January 31st, 2016 - Tyler Clem Captures Top Five Finish at BRP on Friday
After Thursday’s event at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) was cancelled due to the weather, Tyler Clem was one of fifty-three Crate Late Models signed in on Friday night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Winter Shootout sanctioned Bubba Army Winternationals. After recording the 26th fastest qualifying time in time trials, Clem came up short of a transfer spot in his consolation event shifting his focus to the two events on Saturday.

For the $3,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday afternoon, Tyler logged the 10th fastest time sending him into his heat with a pole position starting spot. Transferring the top four into the feature, Clem recorded a 3rd place spot securing his spot into the main event. With 50 laps to work his way to the front, Tyler Clem scored a solid 4th place finish behind Kyle Bronson, Max Blair, and Mark Whitener with Austin Kirkpatrick coming in 5th. (Bruce Carroll Photo)

On Saturday night rain-delayed, NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series World Championship was held, where Tyler Clem started 15th for the $10,000-to-win, A-Main. By the latter stages of the race Tyler was on fire as he raced into the 3rd position and was turning laps half a second faster than the leaders. He was hoping for a caution to regroup the field, and would ultimately get his wish. Unfortunately, just before the caution he broke a right-front shock, which significantly altered the handling of his mount. He would stay on track and still managed to pilot his ill-handling mount to a 7th place finish.
